After some Thailand word association at Mae Haad, it’s time to head to Koh Samui to check in at the infamous Ark Bar on Chaweng Beach.
While we were there, we also caught the ladyboy cabaret show at Starz. I got picked to go onstage, along with my sister’s boyfriend. Thankfully, I was the only person in our group who had a camera on them, and that came backstage with me when I was picked. No footage of our performance will ever see the light of day. 😉
Hi Luke. Vlogs are great :). Just thought I would let you know the name of the hotel which we stayed at with Intrepid in 2007 in Hoi An, had a nice pool and great breakfast (banana pancakes were to die for) clean rooms, not a big resort but in a good spot and nice people. Was called “Hai Yen Hotel” Hoi An (there are Hai Yen Hotels in other parts of Vietnam as well). It is showing about $30 Australian per night with breakfast included.

Thanks for the tip! We’ll definitely look it up:)
Also, we didn’t do motorbike taxis in the Cities (we did the Cyclos though) but in Hoi An the motorbike taxis were great to get to the beach (about 3 kms from centre of town) and there were restaurants there right on the beach (just after the bridge) we had a great day drinking a bucket of beers and eating prawns for some ridiculously low price.
The sax on the beach was glorious!
Sax on the beach!! I’m also loving the captions… Keep these coming! Who needs tv??
Awesome video!
I like Mae haad so much .. how’s food at Maehaad bay resort by the way?
We only had breakfast there a couple of times – it was okay, nothing overly fancy. I rate the food from the nearby café/bungalow place as being pretty good!
