Part two of our Ireland videos. We head over to Garnish Island to see some unique gardens, then stop off at the Rock of Cashel on our way back to Dublin, where we tour the Guinness Storehouse. Then it’s back on the ferry again, England bound.
Also, we get trolled (slightly) by a ferry worker. π
Part one of our Ireland episodes sees Amanda’s mother join us on our travels as we make our way through Wales, on the ferry and over to Ireland. We take a ghost tour in a converted bus, an excellent walking tour through Dublin and visit the Waterford Crystal factory to see how the famous products are made.
We finally reach the United Kingdom! During this episode we catch up with Amanda’s old housemate Andrew, and he takes us down to his local pub as well as his local Tesco – Britain’s third largest in fact, and just behind his house! We also catch up with friends from Australia while exploring Camden Market, and our good friend Matt takes us sight-seeing in London.
We hit up Bratislava and soak up the sun and atmosphere of the May Day celebrations! Fortunately for everyone the weather was good that day, as the next day was not so great. During our rainy wanderings we discuss Bratislava and our new “discovery” of the Habsburgs.
We move on to Slovakia, and the sleepy little town of Ε½diar. We go walking over hills and rivers, with the snow-capped mountains a constant and fantastic backdrop. We stay at the cosy Ginger Monkey hostel, and enjoy spending time with everyone there, but especially with the hostel dog Wally! Unfortunately poor Wally gets in to some strife while we are there (be forewarned, there’s a shot of him looking pretty miserable!) but he has since recovered nicely and is already back to his rock-chasing self. π
Also, I wrote the song for this episode over a few hours today. It’s rough and basic, but I kinda dig it! Enough to put it up on Soundcloud, anyway. π If you’d like to listen or even download it, here’s the link: http://soundcloud.com/dominitus/the-ginger-monkey
Comments and feedback appreciated, as always. π Enjoy!
